Intolerance is... Intolerable...!

This might be a confronting blog but please do read it and think about it - the topic intolerance is a topic that we all, at some time in our lives, have seen, experienced and yes... been part of (even in a small way or by default!). I myself have felt the 'sting' experienced and seen intolerance in many forms. There is much in life that can be devastating to those involved and... intolerance is way-up-there with the 'best of them'!
Intolerance has been around since the 'beginning of time' but it is often a topic that many 'shy' away from as it usually is far too difficult (or confronting) to 'face' or talk about, both for the suffer or the instigator....!
Ideals, beliefs, thinking, words and actions might have to be changed and to change can be extremely difficult especially when we might have to confront ethical issues or personal ones.
Have you suffered from intolerance? Have you felt the pain and hurt of a look, a word, a fist or a deed because you might be different or do not 'fit' into the mold of someone else's concept?
Or... are you the one who has been intolerant? Are you the one who has joined in...? Have you laughed at a joke, seen someone else's discomfort, pain or suffering when the people you are with (or it might have even been yourself) has made a comment, raised a fist... Intolerance comes in many forms, some can be blatant, some just on-or-below the surface while others, can are more subtle... but all done in the name of intolerance which is not okay! Yes... it is not okay to- have to suffer from intolerance or to dish it out!
Each of us has our own beauty and somewhere there is an eye to see it.
Each of us has our own truth and somewhere there is an ear to hear it.
Each of us is capable of love and somewhere there is a heart to receive it as...
each of us is an angel but with one wing only soif we are to fly we can do so by only embracing each other!
We each of us come from a different space - we perceive, experience and live our own way!  We each of us are, who we were born to be, so regardless of our education, financial situation, demographic, physical make-up, creed, ethnicity, or whatever, it makes no bit of difference! We are all part of the tapestry of life and, none of us is better than the other!
Why then if someone has a disfigurement they are a freak or, if disabled they are a drain on society?
Why then if someone is overweight they eat too much or, if underweight they do not eat enough?
Why then if someone is an aged person they are useless, past-their-prime, use-by date and should be stuck in a home?
Why then if someone has a different colour from you they are inferior, animals and not worth having the same rights!
Why then if someone's...belief is different from yours they are wrong, they are misunderstood and maligned because of it!
Why then if someone is different sexually or has opposite sexual preferences than you, they are not human, made fun of and discriminated against and why............?
We all measure others by our own yard stick - our cultural up-bringing, experiences and thinking, ethnicity, spiritual and personal beliefs and, the social NORMS that we are born into. And that is okay but it is when our attitude and behaviour towards others is, or becomes, biased towards an intolerant viewpoint that it is then not okay!
Take a minute to just stop and think....
What if ... you had an accident and became disfigured or disabled?
What if... for some medical or emotional reason you became overweight or underweight?
What if... one day you could be in trouble and a person who looks different from you comes to your aid... saves your life even, or... maybe it might be someone who has a spiritual belief the complete opposite of yours, or... maybe they have a different sexual preference. And there is no doubt that... one day you will be one of those aged persons too!
What happens to one can happen to another and what hurts one will hurt another because we are all part of the whole thus are all connected!
Dear Friends
Intolerance is intolerable! If you have felt its pinch (and I have and felt it hard), and as hard as it is, you must move past the hurt, pain and injustice! Seek others who are respectful of, and embrace, you just as you are! Have faith and belief there are many, many people out there who believe that everyone is just as good as each other - you are worth being just as you are and never let anyone influence you to think otherwise***!
Live in GRACE, live with RESPECT and live EMBRACING OTHERS!

The Strands of Life...!

Our lives are intertwined, woven together by the strands of words, actions and emotions!
The patterns are formed, reshaped and formed again, just like the letters on a page, joining together to form different sentences.
What will YOUR strands be and how will they contribute to the story of life?
'Have you ever noticed how children see things differently—oh so simply?
Nothing is complicated and involved, plus they bounce back and forgive so easily. They know what they want and let things go, seemingly without remorse and complications.
Why is it that once we reach adulthood, things change?
Everything becomes more complicated then. We find it hard to forgive, let go, and move on—instead, we think too much about things, mull them over, and because of this, they become part of our inner selves. We build walls that will keep us safe while hiding behind masks, pretending that we are okay. We also take on board other people’s words, actions, and treatment of us, making them so much part of ourselves that sadly they become entrenched within our psyches, ultimately changing who we are and burying our authentic selves....' (C)
But I have great news: my book, Musings of a Blogger Inspirational Thoughts for Your Life's Journey, will change all of this if......
you choose to make a choice to take a chance to change!
